PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A recent graduate of Shelby Valley High School will stay home to continue her education.
Shanda Caldwell has signed a scholarship agreement to play volleyball at the University of Pikeville. Caldwell will be a part of Coach
Shannon Gassman's first team at UPIKE.
Caldwell is a seven-year veteran of volleyball who played the sport all four years of high school. She was a captain of the Lady Kats last season, when Coach Erica Johnson's team finished 8-12.
She has also been very active on and around campus at Shelby Valley. Caldwell has been part of Wildcats Unite for five years, the girls' club for three years and the environmental club for two years. In addition, she was heat press coordinator for the entrepreneurship class for two years.
She has also successfully completed a CAN nursing class through Big Sandy Quickstart.
