PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville has signed a pair of transfers from a junior college in Tennessee.
Callisha Johnson and
Jayme Jackson will play basketball at the school after signing scholarship agreements with Coach Bill Watson's club. Both played last season at Motlow State Community College in Lynchburg, Tenn.
Johnson is a 5-9 forward from Shelbyville, Tenn. She averaged 12.0 points and 3.1 rebounds a game for the Bucks a season ago. The graduate of Shelbyville Central also averaged 1.4 steals, 1.4 assists and blocked 15 shots.
Jackson is a 5-5 point guard from Princeton, Ky. She averaged 4.3 points and 2.3 assists a game last season. She added 1.7 rebounds and 19 steals while sinking 79.3 percent of her free throw attempts.
Motlow State finished 11-13 on the season and went 8-10 in the Tennessee Community College Athletics Association.
